Fire suppression head was damaged flooding; the art and crafts classroom, adjoining storage rooms, and common hallway. The mitigation team secured the scene to prevent unauthorized entry to the work areas, posted warning signs, eliminated slip and fall hazards due to wet VTC flooring in addition to overhead hazards from wet sagging/falling acoustical ceiling tiles. The mitigation team worked closely with the classroom staff to secure and preserve contents such as art work, class room projects, crafts and other irreplaceable items. All salvageable contents were cleaned and boxed. Unsalvageable contents were inventoried and disposed of upon approval. Due to suspected category 3 water and amount of silt containment all salvable contents and structure had to be thoroughly cleaned and treated with sanitizer. All water was extracted, flooring machine scrubbed area and sanitizers were applied. Necessary drying equipment was set up and drying progress monitored until completion.
